Q: I am a total beginner, which classes should I attend?
A: If it’s your first time to practice yoga, or you consider yourself a beginner, we recommend the the following classes: Gentle Flow, Restorative, Basic Vinyasa, Hatha Vinyasa, and Yin.
Q: What do I wear and what do I need to bring?
A: Wear comfortable and breathable clothing, nothing too loose or too tight as it will restrict your movements. We highly recommend you bring your own mat. You may also borrow one from the shala but please bring a towel to put over especially if you are extra sweaty. Bring your own drinking water for hydration after practice.
Q: I have an injury, can I join the classes?
A: Seek clearance from your doctor first and inform the teacher before class starts. If the injury restricts certain movements, poses may be modified.
Q: I am pregnant, can I join the classes?
A: For regular yoga classes – Yes, we have a pre-natal yoga class that you can join. Please seek clearance from your doctor. If you have a regular practice before pregnancy (at least 6 months of 3x a week practice) and has been cleared by your physician, you may join our regular yoga classes. For Sound Healing, Reiki, and Meditation, no prior experience is required.
Q: Are there changing rooms and shower in the shala?
A: Yes. If you intend to shower before or after practice, please bring your own towel and toiletries.
